Cappadocia Travel Guide and Tips: Sky High Cappadocia! - featured

I will open again my blog with my unforgettable journey in Turkey. In case you guys have seen it in my previous post, you must know where this picture has been taken. Cappadocia has put some beautiful marks in my heart especially because I have crossed one of my bucket lists – get on the most famous hot air balloon! Therefore I have put some Cappadocia travel guide and tips for you who wants to go there.

Travelling around Turkey was quite easy and if you were lucky, you could get a very cheap flight ticket rather than take the bus or train. Because this place was on top of my list, so I have arranged the itinerary perfectly to come here. I took the flight to Nevsehir airport where the bus from my hostel picked me up. Even the view on the road was already beautiful.

Cappadocia GoremeCappadocia, Goreme is special for me because I couldn’t find any other place that has the charm as it does. So here’s why:

Cappadocia Turkey Travel Guide and Tips:

The ‘Fairy Chimneys’

Their rock formation is stunning! Once I arrived at this place, I was so shocked that this kind of place exists. The lava from the volcanic mountain along with the rain and the wind has made these beautiful formations whereas the people paved their way through the soft rock and built their home afterwards. Incredible structure of a house, isn’t it?

Take a look at these photos..

The Hot Air Balloon Ride

The famous hot air balloon ride, of course, is a must. Even the travellers in my hostel waited for the good wind to get on this balloon ride. The tricky part is you never know if the wind is good or not. So sadly, this will be just based on your level of luckiness.

Just a tip: Put several days in Goreme at your itinerary so that you can catch the good wind for hot air balloon.

Several considerations are how to choose the hot air balloon company; the higher the price means the good quality they have, but another consideration that means many people book that company too. You will have to share the balloon with so many people and may it will be safe, you will not have some freedom and comfort during the flight. I took the cheapest one but it turned out was only for at least 10 people.

Just a tip: Be sure to check your hostel too because sometimes they make discounted price if you booked together from the hostel.

The Supreme ‘Red Tour’

As I still have another day to spare, I asked for some suggestion from the 2 Korean travellers on my hostel (They are super cute and funny by the way). They recommended to take the tour that all of the Cappadocia travel has offered me on the street; I was not sure back then. Apparently, the name of the tour is with the colour coded: the red, green and blue tour; where each has a different route of the journey. The girls took the red tour and they were stunned by the places they went to, so I did the same way as they did.

First stop is the viewing spot on the high hill:

Cappadocia GoremeThe coolest part is that when they took us to the underground city, Derinkuyu which is the deepest, eldest and longest cave city in the world. If you like history, you would love this place immediately. Be warned – the cave is very small and deep if you have any claustrophobic it’s better to stay away. I swear this place was super stunning!

I had t walk super carefully around here because they don’t even use any safety net or trails. Nonetheless, get lost in this place was memorable!

Simple trekking for 2 hours was worth spent in this place. Check this out:

The places are surreal and full of amazing view and histories. The people are nice and even strangers came up to me and tried to have the conversation with me in English. Overall, I was more mesmerised with Goreme has to offer than just the hot air balloon. Flying can take you 1-2 hours with the stunning view, but the Red Tour can last 1 whole day with many things that you thought it could never exist! Making good memories while you solo travelling can teach you so many things.

So, get Cappadocia on your bucket list now!
